Vision / Purpose:
To see Garifuna and non Garifuna Christians working together in love for the welfare and interest of the Garifuna people (Garinagu) and their communities for both Christians and non Christians, to meet their spiritual and physical needs here and aboard.
There are three basic needs in the Garifuna Communities
1. Salvation
2. Leadership Education Development
3. Economic Development

All our events are:
To Challenge Garifuna from different churches/organizations to Fellowship, Worship God and to work together
To Stimulate Garifuna Christians to Promote, the thing God is doing among the Garifuna Christians and in their communities and to invite non-Garifuna Christians and Unsaved Garifunas to participate
To Fund-raise to help with expenses, missionaries, projects and other needs
We hope that all will be able to catch and understand the vision and the need, which is to be united and promote networking among ourselves for the glory of God

Para invitar desafiar a los Garifuna de diferente iglesias/ organizaciones a trabajar juntos, Estimular al Garifuna cristianos, venerar a Dios, entre el Garifuna cristianos, promover las cosas que Dios esta hacienda en su iglesia y en sus comunidades, invitar a no- cristianos a que participen en las distintas actividades.
La recaudación de fondos es para ayudar con los gastos, la misión, proyectos y otras necesidades
Esperamos que todos entendamos la visión y la necesidad, que es unirnos y promover contactos entre nosotros mismos para la Gloria de Dios

Here are some information about the Garifuna Council of Churches, we hope that this may be helpful to you, to know and understand a little about us.
Vision: See Garifunas Christians working together
Goals: To meet the Welfare of the Garifuna people and others
Mission: To reach out and unite Garifuna all Christian and non Garifuna
Being a member of the Evangelical Garifuna Council, you must accept the Vision Statement and the statement of faith, and you must be willing to support the Council to the best of your ability or abilities.
Who is qualified to become a member of the Council?
All born again Garifuna Christians
Anyone who want to work with and for the Garifuna people
All Garifuna people
To be a leader or officer of the council - one must be a born again Christian, Spiritually mature and very active in the council and in their church
This Council is a Non-Denomination, it consists of different kinds of denominations. The council or any member does not has the right to go into any church and tell them how to run or operate their church, without the permission of the pastor/or leader of that church. Every member of the council must respect and live in peace with each other regardless of their denomination or belief.
We should not enforce our personal convictions or beliefs on others. But we can share our personal believes, our convictions and values.
We may not agree with each other all the time, but that should not stop us from working together, for the welfare of the Garifuna people. We need to focus on things that we agree on. We should not dwell on things that divide us. We need to be patience, understanding, forgiving and loving each other.
The Evangelical Garifuna Council of Churches is a resource center for the Garifuna Churches, its members and other people.
We are to reconciling people to God and to each other.
To help and support each other and their ministry/es
To help and support each other to become and be all that God want them to be (not what we want them to be )
How will this council wills operate or will accomplish its plans?
“A council is a group of people, coming together to consult with each other about an issue or situation or a problem, and find ways how to solve a concern of someone”.
Decision Making - Must Base on the will and the word of God and the vision of the Council All major ideas, plans or decisions must be vote upon, by the council members that are present and majority rules. Then the members act upon it. All major Idea or plan must present to president first. Then the president will be presented it to the Advisory and Board of directors to review. Since the council is a resource center for Garifunas and other, we expect Garifunas to support the council plan/s. Each member of the council is very important; they play a very important role for the development and improvement of the council. Each member of the council is expected to share their resource/s, information, finances, ability, gifts, time , and etc... and be responsible for their commitments they made.
